I am now back at home in Athens, Texas. The trip was a wonderful experience with many ups and downs. I will catch up here what happened since my last update:
I was sick for the first 3 dyas we arrived in Tres Cantos. I had caught a virus or somthing but got really bad. I had to go to the doctor and considered coming home early. After pryer and reconsideration, and alot of medicine, I decided to stick it out. by the 4th day I was well enough to go out in the city and help out. The first day I was able to participate, we went to a near by town and passed out tracks. Along with tracks to witness, we passed out quesstionares and asked people questions about life. These opened dorrs to allow us to talk to them about God. The people were very respectful and open. The next day we did the same type of evangelism around the city of Tres Cantos. Later that night we had a childrens program in a plaza. The people of the church did puppets and dramas while I did balloons. The young people helped me out alot with interpretation and creating balloons. They were very good at it!! After the program, I hung out with the young people and went down to the city hall to see an outdoor movie.
The next day we did the same type of ministry. In the morning we had a balloon 'jam session'. I got to teach them new balloons. A group called APC Groupo came from a nearby town to help out and put on a christian rock concert. They were really cool peaople. They did dancing drama and dancing. The dancers were some of the best I have seen along with break dancing. The dramas were soo funny, even when I couldnt understand all the words..lol.
I was able to stay Sunday night for the concert they were to put on. It was a reallly good concert. They did some things that were really cool.
I met sooo many awsome people. The youth at the church are sooo on fire for God. The are really amazing people. We had fun practicing spanish and english with games and conversations. The best times of this trip was hanging out with the people of the church and getting to know what God is doing in their lives. God defintly made himself known on this trip. From me getting sick to the reassingment of my original location and team. At the beggining of this trip I was doubting God in some ways. Like he always does, God had a special plan for my location and the people I met. He defintly proved me wrong...lol.
Thanks to the Tres Cantos church for allowing us to serve along side of them and partner in sharing God's love. Thanks for all of your prayers and support throughout these several weeks. Your prayers were defintly heard!!! And Thanks to my Spanish family I now have!!!
