In combination with my sister being pregnant and my grandmother starting Chemo on Monday, my life has gottten just a little more mixed up.
Last night, my grandfather died unexpectantly. He was 86 yrs old and lived a long prosperous life. The funeral is on Friday in Jacksboro, TX.
Along with this, I found out today that I am going to have gallbladder surgury. My gallbladder is "diseased" and it needs to be removed. I will probley have this surgury done sometime next week.
As for school, I am not sure when will be back!! sometime mid-next weeek at the earliest.
Please keep my family in your prayers during this time.

Engineering is not Katie!!

Thursday, October 12, 2006

I had a revolution this week. I had thought about changing majors a few times in the past but just for a short time. I started thinking why exactly I was in Biomedical Engineering. The more I thought, I realized I had gotten in for the Biomedical part rather than engineering. None of the basic engineering courses have gone my way. i havent caught on to the basic concepts. With much prayer, thought, and discussion, I decided I would change my major to somthing I would enjoy better. After researching the different majors here at LETU, I decided to change to Kinesiology Exercise Science. With this degree, I will go onto PT scholl and become some type of Physical Therapist. I am still researchin the opportunities but I feel really good about this decision. It was a tough few days deciding what to do, but I am very confident I have made the right decision!!!

So an update from my last post: I did speak in front of my school during chaple. It went pretty well i think. While on stage I did a blloon figure as I talked!!. It kinda helped take all the nervousness away. In planning what I was to say, I was scared to death. I was scared that what i said might be taken wrong, I was scared that I would forget what to say, I was scared of what people would think. All of these things and more were runnig through my head, all the way up to the point I walked onto stage. Once I got on stage, I felt fine. It was as if God lifted me out of my seat onto the stage. I wasnt scared and the words came natural to me. In the end, I am glad I had to opportunity to share to LETU about my awsome summer. Yes, I was scared and didnt want to, I realize now that God wanted me to share!!! Below is a link of the chaple recording. I cant get it to play but mabey you can!!

The chaple talk was just the beginning to a really hectic week of tests, meetings, reports, and hospitals. During this week, Jessica met her adoptive parents, and Grandmother went into the hospital. My grandmother had emergency surgury to remova tumor and some lymph nodes. The results are back, and the cancer had perfurated the colon. We do not know if it has spread but she will start chemo tratment in a few months. Please keep her in ur prayers!!
